Simple Sophistication

I’m in love with this style for its beautiful length and simple styling. This look is also a great example of a shorter haircut that has ombre hair coloring – so on trend right now! Simple, natural shapes and colors that are healthy and shiny are what 2012 is all about.

A medium wavy hairstyle for a heart face

How to Style:
  1. Blow dry hair with a round brush or paddle brush to smooth.
  2. When hair is completely dry take a 1” barrel curling iron and take medium sized vertical sections of hair, starting at the face, and curl back and away from your face.
  3. When you are done curling spray with a light hold hairspray or texture spray. Try not to touch your hair too much so the curls stay in their original shape.
Recommended Products:
Use Kerastase’s Oleo Relax while wet to protect your hair from heat and tame down frizz. Then try L’Oreal’s Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Hair Spray. Spray lightly after you finish curling to secure hair in place.
Best Hair Type and Face Shape:
These soft curls are full of volume around the chin making them great for heart shaped faces. This style is great for all hair types.
Tip: Think about your wardrobe before choosing any style. Are your clothes more alternative, conservative, colorful, or simple? Look for clues in your clothes to help aid you in choosing a hairstyle. Feel free to think outside the box but oftentimes starting in your closet can help.
