Why now:
When the Panama Canal celebrated its centennial on August 15, 2014, the country partied for greater reason than the success of that maritime shortcut; Panama as a whole has managed to become an attraction to travel to and not just through. It’s an aviation hub for Central America, and an easy connection for continuing travel to South America.
Action plan:
Star Alliance member Copa Airlines just announced its 12th nonstop U.S. destination this year, San Francisco, and the hotel scene continues to expand rapidly; we love the American Trade Hotel, a high-style boutique property in the historic center of Panama City, conceived by the same people responsible for the popular U.S. chain of Ace hotels.
