1995 - Man Utd 2-2 Liverpool - Cantona returns from ban
OCTOBER, 1995 | CANTONA'S COMEBACK | For all his brilliance on the pitch, Eric Cantona's trophy-laden spell in English football will best be remembered for his kung-fu kick on a Crystal Palace fan and the subsequent eight-month suspension that came with it. On his first appearance since the incident, the mercurial Frenchman set up Nicky Butt to open the scoring against Liverpool and, either side of two Robbie Fowler goals, netted the crucial equaliser from the penalty spot (and scaled the stanchion) to secure a 2-2 draw. Cantona went on to help Manchester United regain the Premier League title, having been suspended for the last four months of the club's failed title defence the previous season.
