1997 - Paul Ince joins Liverpool
JULY, 1997 | INCE JOINS LIVERPOOL | No player has crossed the divide directly since Phil Chisnall in 1964 but there has been the odd player to have played for each team, one of the most notable being Paul Ince. The midfielder had won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup twice and the League Cup and Cup Winners' Cup at Old Trafford before joining Inter in 1995. Ince was unsettled in Italy and sought a return to England after two years, though, and moved to Anfield. 'The Guvnor' failed to recapture his best form at Liverpool but famously celebrated scoring a late equaliser against United with clear joy.
