The two people arrested over the disappearance of Becky Watts in Bristol have been further arrested over her murder, police have said.
A 28-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman had on Saturday been arrested over the kidnap of the 16-year-old.
Police have said they now have both been further arrested on suspicion of the more serious charge.
It came after police said they had seized a black Vauxhall Zafira - registration HY06 HYA - and said they wanted to speak to anyone who had ever owned the car or had seen it between 19 and 23 February.
Detectives said they have been carrying out a detailed search of the area around Becky's home in the St George area of Bristol.
Officers have been going house to house, looking through CCTV footage and have been analysing traffic cameras.
They were earlier given an extra 36 hours to question the pair they are holding.
Forensic teams are searching three houses - in the Southmead and Barton Hill areas and the family home in St George as well as locations within a 1.6-mile radius of her home.
Becky was last seen at her home in Crown Hill, in the St George area, on 19 February.
Searches for the teenager have been under way since she was reported missing by her family at 4pm on 20 February.
Police said she took her phone, laptop and tablet computer out with her, but did not tell her friends or family where she was going, or take extra clothes.
Detective Superintendent Mike Courtiour told news crews: "On Saturday afternoon we arrested two people in connection with the Becky Watts missing person investigation.
"A 28-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of the kidnap of Rebecca Watts. This afternoon, they have been further arrested on suspicion of the murder of Rebecca Watts. Both are still in police custody at this time.
"This morning, a district judge granted us a warrant of further detention which gives us a further 36 hours to question these two individuals.
"In the meantime, our search for Becky continues unabated.
"We are drawing upon all possible resources to help us. Additional officers from Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Devon and Cornwall and police dogs from South Wales Police have been drafted in and support from the police helicopter.
He repeated his urgent appeal for anyone who might have information on the case to come forward.
He said: "Becky's family are understandably distraught and we are working closely with them to support them at this difficult time.
"Finally, I would like to repeat our plea for anyone who has any information regarding this investigation to contact us immediately."
A statement on the FIND Rebecca WATTS Facebook page said that organisers of a public hunt were waiting for approval for a search being planed for Tuesday, which would take place around 4pm.
