Undercuts are all the rage right now. This is a fab wavy style that gives the illusion of an undercut if you aren’t ready to take the plunge.
How to Style:
1. Take the top section of hair and clip it out of the way.
2.Comb your sides back and secure them with bobby pins. I would use hairspray as you are working to get a tight, smooth finish on the sides.
3. Take the top section down and curl with a large barrel iron. You want the top to be soft and wavy, but not too curly.
4. Emulsify a dime-sized amount of pomade/paste into your hands. Run it through the waves to loosen them up.
5. Use your fingers to position your hair how you want it. Let the top hang down a bit over the sides. You can use bobby pins if needed to secure the top as well.
6. Finish with a strong hold hairspray.
Recommended Products:
Pravana has an amazing paste called Twist that is very pliable yet has a strong hold. Aquage’s Transforming Spray is perfect when you don’t want the hair to budge.
Best Face Shape and Hair Texture:
This style looks great on oval shaped faces and would work best with medium to thick hair.
Tip:
You can style your hair like this whether you have an undercut or not, your hair just can’t be too long. Otherwise you will have a lot of pins in there!
