Tousled Tresses
These softly tousled tresses are a must for medium length hair. Wear this style during the day while you are at the office, then slip on your LBD (little black dress) and stilettos and voila! You are ready to rock and roll. How to Style:
1. You will actually get better results on hair that hasn’t been been freshly washed for this style.
2. Spray a small amount of dry shampoo at the roots and gently rub into your scalp. This will not only absorb any excess oil, but will give you tons of volume as well.
3. Run a wide tooth comb through your hair to make sure it is tangle free.
4. Section hair off starting at the bottom. For this loose of a curl, I would recommend using a 1 1/2-inch or larger curling rod.
5. Take a 2 inch section of your hair and wrap it around the curling rod, starting at your root. Be careful holding the end as you wrap so that you do not burn yourself. Hold for about 10 seconds.
6. Finish these steps until you reach the top.
7. Once you are done curling the hair, take a dime-sized amount of finishing wax or cream, emulsify in your hands, and lightly run your fingers throughout the hair to break the curls up.
8. Use your fingers to manipulate the hair into the shape you desire.
9. Spray with a medium hold hairspray.
Recommended Products:
Pravana’s Fresh is a fantastic dry shampoo. It smells great and gives you so much volume while absorbing excess oil. Aquage’s Gelade is a nice medium weight wax that will give definition and shine. Top it off with Paul Mitchell’s Extra Body Finishing Spray.
Best Face Shape & Hair Type:
The best thing about this style is that any face shape and hair type can wear it!
Tip:
You can do this style on freshly washed hair, but I truly believe you will get better results on hair that has not been washed for at least a day.
