Beautiful Braids!

Braids are one of the hottest trends of the summer and we are seeing them all over the red carpet on celebs like Jennifer Anniston, Blake Lively and many more!  There are so many types of braids out there and a number of ways to wear them, so we thought we would share a few of our favorites so you get the perfect, braided look as well!
The fishtail braid has an elegant and unique look that really turns some heads.  The combination of Fergie’s center part and Ombre highlights along with the fishtail braid just screams trendsetter!

French braids are braids that pick up additional hairs along the scalp, alternating sides.  The traditional french braid starts in the front, center part of the head, working its way down to the tips of the tresses creating a perfect, centered braid going down the back of the head.  This same braiding style of staying close to the scalp can now be worn a number of ways from halos to headbands.  We just love Jessica Alba’s french braided bun, Nicole Richie’s braided headband, and Ashley Olsen’s halo-like braided up-do!

The dutch braid is very similar to the french braid with difference lying in the braiding technique.  Instead of braiding the sections over one another, you braid them under one another to achieve a sleeker, more outward appearing braid.  Rihanna wore a red-hot dutch braid at Met Ball 2011 and now we are seeing them everywhere!

The traditional braid is a great style option for when you are in a rush or just want something a little different.  It looks great sleek or messy as well as straight back or to the side.  It is also the perfect option for dirty hair when you are trying to squeeze another day in between washings.  Jessica Simpson has rocked a number of braided looks recently, but we particularly love how she made this traditional braided style unique by adding a ton of volume on top.  Amanda Seyfried looks especially sweet with this loose and lovely braid as well.
