Braids are hot to trot and this sultry style has it all. Soft, romantic waves with a beautifully braided headband. Add a delicate piece of ribbon for a little extra pizazz.
How to Style:
1. Start with completely dry hair. It doesn’t have to be freshly washed.
2. Spray a light coat of hairspray all over.
3. Section off the front piece that you will want to braid. Clip to the side.
4. Starting at the bottom, take a medium sized section of hair and wrap around a clipless curling iron. Hold for about 5 seconds.
5. Continue to take sections of hair and wrap around the iron until all of the hair that isn’t clipped aside is finished.
6. Once that is complete, take the section that you are going to braid and start from either temple.
7. Take the piece of ribbon and tie it to the section of hair.
8. Use the piece of ribbon as if were a piece of your hair and create a standard 3-strand French braid.
9. Once you reach the other temple, take a small elastic and tie the ends.
10. Take a bobby pin and securely pin the end to the rest of the hair.
11. At this point. you can take a dime-sized amount of finishing cream and gently define and separate the waves that were created earlier. Spray with a medium to strong hold hairspray.
Recommended Products:
Paul Mitchell’s Worked Up is a great hairspray to use while you are styling your hair as well as when you are finished. Aquage’s Detailing creme is an amazing finishing cream that doesn’t have any hold, but gives you great definition and strand separation.
Best Face Shape and Hair Type:
This style looks best on oval and round faces. Any hair type can wear this.
Tip:
When braiding the front section, apply a small amount of the finishing cream to your hands. This will help to eliminate frizz while you are braiding.
