Sophisticated Strands

This updo is stunning for keeping hair up and off your face but still showing off your long locks. Super sleek strands cascade down your back like a beautiful waterfall. Teasing slightly on top helps give a little volume and adds some interest.

A long and straight half updo hairstyle

How to Style:
  1. When doing an updo, start with tangle free and dry hair.
  2. Flat iron your entire head of hair so it’s silky and straight.
  3. Take small horizontal sections on the top of the head and tease hair down to the roots to create a cusion.
  4. Brush hair back and smooth slightly so as not to remove all your teasing.
  5. Take a small section from temples to temples, pull back and secure with bobby pins at the top back crown of the head.
  6. Take another small section from the temples down to your ears and secure back with bobby pins at the back of the head, slightly under where you pinned your top section.
  7. Take the last bottom section of hair and secure it under the last section.
  8. Leave your hair as straight and sleek as possible and spray with a strong hold hairspray.
Recommended Products:
Use secure bobby pins from Goody. It’s a name brand that’s famous for a reason – their products work. Finish off your look with a great hairspray like L’Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray Strong Hold.
Best Face Shape and Hair Type:
This style would look best on oval, heart, and square shaped faces. The longer and thicker your hair is, the better.
Tip: This style would look beautiful with curly hair, too!
