This side-swept beauty is perfect for any special event. Whether it be a wedding, prom, or even a Saturday night that you feel like getting all dolled up for.
How to Style:
1. Make sure hair is 100% dry. You can add a small amount of dry shampoo to help absorb any excess oil and give some volume in the crown.
2. Starting at the bottom of your hair, take a 2 inch or larger barrel curling iron and curl in 2 inch sections. Continue this process until hair is finished.
3. Once this process is done, take a dime-sized amount of polishing cream, emulsify through hands and start to gather hair to what ever side you desire.
4. Spray hair with a workable hairspray as you gather. Tilting your head to the side will help as you gather with one hand and spray with the other.
5. As you start to get the hair into position, take bobby pins and begin to secure the hair into place. Continue this process until hair is all in place.
6. After you have secured all of your pins, take a small hand held mirror to look at the back of your style. Do this by turning your back to the mirror that you have been styling your hair in and hold the small mirror in front of you up to the side. Move the small mirror around until you can see the back of your hair. If any of the pins are extremely visible, you can move some hair around to cover them.
7. Take the curling iron and gently smooth out the bang area, bumping them under a tad so that you can sweep them to the side.
8. Spray with a strong hold hairspray.
Recommended Products:
Pravana’s Fresh dry shampoo is excellent for absorbing excess oil and gives amazing volume. For a nice workable hairspray, I would use Aquage’s Working Spray. It has a nice dry down time so that you can manipulate the hair as you style. Aquage’s Transforming Spray has a strong hold and will keep this gorgeous style in place all night long.
Best Face Shape and Hair Type:
This style works best on round, oval and heart shaped faces. Any hair type can wear this style.
Tip:
Not to sound redundant, but any curled updo style seems to hold its shape better if it’s not freshly washed. You also don’t want greasy, dirty hair. This is where the dry shampoo comes into play!
