West Ham have overtaken Newcastle in the race to sign Charlie Austin.
The Daily Star report that the Hammers believe they are on course to snap up the striker before Magpies boss Steve McClaren can.
The newspaper also say relegated QPR are asking for £15m for the Englishman and have accepted they cannot keep him at Loftus Road.
