An argument with his bosses over his contract led to Christopher Meloni leaving Law & Order: SVU after 12 years. He later described the negotiations as “poorly done” and said the outcome could have been averted.
“I wanted it to end differently and I’d given ample warnings and feelings and thoughts,” Meloni said. “It was handled poorly, in my opinion.” His long-time co-star Mariska Hargitay is still with the show.
