British Soap Awards 2015: EastEnders a big winner over Coronation Street

British Soap Awards

British Soap Awards

EastEnders walked away with a horde of British Soap Awards, but the glitzy bash turned poignant as heartfelt tributes were paid to late Coronation Street star Anne Kirkbride and EastEnders' John Bardon (who played Jim Branning) who died last year.
Anne Kirkbride played Deirdre Barlow (née Hunt) for 42 years until her death from cancer in January this year. Anne was honoured with the Outstanding Achievement award.
On a happier note, it was a great night for EastEnders. The BBC soap was the big winner on the night; it was crowned Best Soap for a year that included the live reveal of who killed Lucy Beale, the episode that marked its 30th anniversary year.
Cast members Lorna Fitzgerald and Danielle Harold (pictured) were among the soapland stars who glammed-up for the showbiz event. Read on to see who-won-what and who hit the red carpet...
