Following the success of the Mad Max trilogy, Mel starred in four Lethal Weapon films and won an Academy Award for Best Director for 1995’s Braveheart, which he also produced and starred in. In recent years, his career has suffered as his conservative religous beliefs and bad behaviour have dominated the headlines.
