Eagle-eye Saturday Night Takeaway fans were left scratching their heads when they noticed Declan Donnelly wasn’t wearing his wedding ring.
Immediately alarm bells were ringing, but now the Brit Awards host insisted that there was “nothing sinister” in it – it was just that he had forgotten to put it on.
Dec, who married his manager Ali Astall in August 2015, explained how it was an innocent mistake to the Mirror, as he said: “I didn't realise until afterwards when someone said there's a bit of a thing online.
“I left it upstairs in the dressing room - I didn't think anyone would notice. It's only a tiny little thing!”
His co-host Ant confessed that he had experienced the same thing, as he said: “It happened to me once on I'm A Celeb - everyone was going: 'Oh my God! What's going on?'”
But Dec assured us that all was well, as he said: “There's no drama - thank God. there's nothing more sinister in it.”
Ant and Dec 's popular ITV show returned on Saturday night, and as live sketches involving - intertwined with prerecorded footage - such as a , viewers took to the social network to point out the band was missing.
One viewer posted: "Dec where's your wedding ring gone?? #leftitbythesink #donttellthemissus"
Another added: "Am i the only person that has noticed that Dec wasn't wearing his wedding ring? @antanddec #SaturdayNightTakeaway (sic)"
"Dec, no wedding ring?! Hope all is well? Hope love is still all around!!" said another, in reference to Wet Wet Wet being on the ITV show.
Twitter user Annie Wheeler posted: "@antanddec watching #SaturdayNightTakeaway and dec why you not wearing your wedding ring shame on ypu (sic)"
Meanwhile one fan of the programme tweeted: "God sake!! The amount of people going on about Dec not wearing his wedding ring. My mum and dad been married 36 years and he doesn't wear it (sic)"
It was thought that the 40-year-old presenter removed his band to take part in an Ant vs Dec game of Pacman, although Ant was wearing his throughout the task.
On Friday, the duo appeared on ITV's This Morning to promote the returning show, where Dec's wedding ring was present.
During the Saturday night show there was a pre-recorded James Corden sketch - which was filmed prior to broadcast - where Dec's band was again present.

The Britain's Got Talent host tweeted his followers via his official account with his hosting partner (and best man) Ant, addressing Ali as his "wife".
He posted: "Thank you for all the kind and lovely messages, they are appreciated. My wife and I had the most amazing, magical, wonderful day.D x."
