12 Wavy Hairstyles We Can’t Help But Love

Waves are an integral part of nature. These highways of information allow us to see, hear, taste, touch and experience sensation. The patterns expressed by air waves, sound waves and ocean waves are mimicked by S-shaped waves and  C-shaped curls. Hair can tell a story through the rhythm and frequency of a wave design. Take a look at history and notice how distinct hair wave patterns are indicative of specific eras. Their potent messages aptly reflect the standard of beauty for the time. Just goes to show you how a simple hairstyle change can bring new life to your personal style.  Here are 12 wavy hairstyles to create today.

How To Style:
1. Prep clean, damp hair with a light-hold wet gel.
2. Create a deep side part and begin your ‘S-shaped’ finger wave pattern along the top, working down toward the right side of the head using a fine tooth comb. Continue the finger wave pattern along the back and left side. Use duckbill clips (on the right and left sides only) to secure and set the wave shape.
3. Move back to the right side and begin creating a few flat pin curls just below the cheekbone. Be sure to pin curl toward the face and secure with single-prong pin curl clips.  Repeat this process on the left side.
4. Allow hair to air dry or use a hooded dryer on low heat.
5. Once hair has completely dried and cooled, release the duckbill and pin curl clips. Brush hair out using a paddle brush to create this voluminous shape.  Slightly backcomb base for extra volume. Reshape the pin curls to frame the face.
6. Finish with a hard-hold hairspray.
