7 Wedding Hairstyles For Black Women That Are Anything But Boring

I hear wedding bells! Wait, what about the something borrowed and something blue? Oh, and don’t forget about the hairdo! Honestly, there’s absolutely no way around it; you have to have the right hairstyle to complete your perfect wedding day look. From traditional to trendy, these seven gorgeous wedding hairstyles for black women are sure to complement a beautiful wedding party and a breath taking bride!

Side Swept Updo

This side swept updo is simple, but has a touch of pizzazz. It is a style that’s ideal for the bride with a veil to be uncovered. The comb of the veil would be very easy to place being that the top of the hair is smoothed down. Your guests will love the back of your hair with its’ perfectly pinned and tossled look as you walk past them down the aisle!

How To Style:
  1. After the hair is shampooed & conditioned, distribute a dime size drop of the GS Grape Seed Oil throughout the hair and proceed to blow-dry.
  2. After hair is dried, continue to curl the hair in big barrel size curls. Take chunky sections of the hair to curl and pin curl as you go to preserve the curl. (Make sure to curl the front in the direction you desire to style it.)
  3. Once the hair is curled, release the pins and begin to smooth the edges and top of the hair. Take the front and style it as desired (bangs optional). Begin smoothing the hair toward the back right side and secure it with pins.
  4. Now get creative! Spray a light mist of the Joicos’ Holding Spray, then take sections of the remaining curled hair, smooth it, then reroll it with you fingers to sculpt and pin until you get your finished look! For added shine, finish the look with a mist of Keracare Finishing Spray.
Recommended Products:
I recommend GS Grape Seed Oil, Joicos’ Holding Spray and Keracare Finishing Spray to complete this look.
