Stoke v Southampton
Last summer few would have expected to describe this encounter as a top of the table clash, although only the visitors have a European dream to fight for. Stoke’s weapon of choice this season –and in fact for most of their Premier League existence – has been the header, with only West Ham and West Brom more reliant on the aerial route to goal this term. However Saturday’s visitors Southampton bring with them the division’s most resilient defence and will offer stiffer resistance than most to the Potters’ air raids. The Saints have been harder to squeeze a header past than any other side this season, conceding just twice from the air.
