Blue-blooded

A female Spiny Orb-weaver (Gasteracantha cancriformis) waiting for pray to land in her nest at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Spiders are blue-blooded, literally. Their blood is pale blue in color due to the presence of haemocyanin dissolved in the lymph.
