Mad About Messy

We are totally swooning over this messy yet chic look! It’s easy-peasy to create and doesn’t disappoint in the trendy department.

Dianna Agron Messy Updo

How To Style:
  1. Begin with dry hair (day old hair is ideal for this look).
  2. Gently backcomb the hair at the crown of your head.
  3. Use a headband of some sort to push the hair around your face back. If needed, secure the headband with bobby pins.
  4. Gently smooth down the backcombed sections and then gather the rest of your hair back into a ponytail in the back/middle of your head.
  5. Spray everything with a strong hold finishing spray.
Best Face Shape and Hair Type:
If you have short hair that’s fairly thick and coarse, this style is a great option for you. A heart or oval shaped face will be complemented by this messy look and, as I mentioned earlier, hair that’s a bit dirty will work perfectly for this style.
Recommended Products:
A great way to get a ton of body when backcombing hair is to spray a bit of dry shampoo at your roots before you backcomb. Try Fresh Dust by L’oreal. It’s light and won’t change the color of your roots!
