MARTIN CROWE (SEPT. 22, 1962 – MARCH 3, 2016)

New Zealand cricket legend, Martin Crowe passed away at the age of 53 after a long battle with cancer on March 3. He had been suffering from lymphoma, a cancer of the immune system. The former captain of the national side, Crowe was named Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1985 and New Zealand sportsman of the year in 1991.

The New Zealand cricket legend passed away in Auckland at the age of 53, after a lengthy battle with lymphoma. Crowe held a record of 17 Test centuries, including a Test high score of 299 against Sri Lanka in 1991. The former captain of the national side was named Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1985 and New Zealand sportsman of the year in 1991.
