Yangtze finless porpoise (Neophocaena asiaeorientalis ssp. asiaeorientalis)

A newly born Yangtze finless porpoise (C) swims with his mother (top) and brother at the Hydrobiology Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on June 3, 2007 in Wuhan of Hubei Province, China.

Population left: 1000 to 1,800
Known for their mischievous smile and an intelligence level comparable to that of gorillas, human activities and pollution pose serious threats to the finless porpoise population.
