World's priciest

14

Priced at £608 per 2.2 pounds (1 kilo), this British Stilton – a blue-veined cow's milk cheese with edible gold flakes (pictured) – was dubbed the world’s most expensive cheese in 2011. As of January 2015, Serbia’s pule cheese – made from donkey's milk – is the most expensive cheese in the world, priced at £864 per 2.2 pounds (1 kilo). Pule cheese is expensive because it's so rare: the donkeys must be milked by hand, and 25 litres of milk are needed to make 2.2 pounds (1 kilo) of cheese.
