Tyson Fury has branded MMA and the UFC as "bulls***" after seeing its biggest star tap out of a fight.
Conor McGregor suffered a shock defeat at UFC 196 in Las Vegas last night, tapping out in the second round to Nate Diaz .
And Fury wasn't impressed by what he saw as he let rip at the sport, which has developed into a serious rival for boxing, in a series of tweets.
Firstly Fury suggested he was the real fighting pride of Ireland and he wouldn't have given in as quickly as McGregor did.
And he went on to criticise MMA as a sport, claiming the "sweet science" of boxing was the true combat sport.
He said: "MMA is bulls***, gets hard tap out, boxing is the Ultimate combat sport. Where 2 proper fighters stand up & fight #sweetscience".
He also criticised McGregor for not backing up his talk before the fight, although the Irishman was praised for being humble in defeat after his loss .
Fury claimed boxing's world heavyweight title after a shock win over Wladimir Klitschko at the end of last year and he is set to defend those titles in a rematch this summer.
And although McGregor was beaten last night, he remains the UFC's featherweight champion.
