The European car sales figures from last year have been released and it would appear that - in contrast to what we find in the Eurovision Song Contest - our tastes are rather similar to those of our friends on the continent. Once again, Volkswagen was by far and away the most popular brand in Europe, recording a total of 1.6 million sales in 2014. But what about the most popular models? Read on to find out.

10. Audi A3: 200,157 sold
Just as in the UK, the Audi A3 is the only car with a premium badge to appear in the top 10. What’s even more impressive is the 19.3% increase in sales over the same period in 2013. Who would bet against a similar rise over the next 12 months?
