The 3 Best Hairstyles of the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards

There was no shortage of beautiful dresses, stunning faces and extra dreamy hair on the red carpet of the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Take a peep at our three favorite looks!

Ariel Winter’s Old School Glam

This retro look is similar to a brushed out finger wave. Ariel’s hair looks absolutely divine. This style frames her face in the softest, most perfect way!

Ariel Winter - Best Hairstyles of the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards

How To Style:
  1. Begin with dry hair that’s parted to one side.
  2. Use a 1¼-inch curling iron and curl small sections of hair. Be sure that all of the curls are going the same way. A good rule is to make all of the curls go away from your face.
  3. Once you have curled each section, use a brush and brush through the curls to form them into a soft “s” shape.
  4. Spray everything with a light hold spray.
Best Face Shape and Hair Type:
This look could really work for any length of hair — short, medium or long! If you have medium to coarse hair, your hair will likely hold curls better. A face with sharper features will be complemented by this look.
Recommended Products:
Before you start curling your hair, spray each section with a working hairspray. I love Spray de Mode by Bumble and Bumble. It’s super light and will make your curls hold a bit longer.

Kiera Knightly’s Perfectly Undone Half Pony

Kiera looks absolutely spectacular with this extra relaxed half up, half down look.

How To Style:
  1. Begin with dry hair that’s parted down the middle.
  2. Use a 1¼-inch curling iron to curl each section of your hair. Take big sections so you don’t end up with curls that are too tight. Be sure to alternate the direction of each curl. For instance, one curl should be going towards your face while the next one should be going away from your face.
  3. Leave out two small sections of hair around your face, then gather the top half of your hair up into a half ponytail. Secure it with bobby pins.
  4. Spray everything with a light hold finishing spray.
Best Face Shape and Hair Type:
This look will work for any length hair. Those with a layered haircut and virtually any hair texture can totally pull off this style. A square face shape will be complemented by this look.
Recommended Products:
If you want a little extra “oomph” in your half pony, spray your roots with dry shampoo and do a bit of backcombing before you pull your hair back. This extra step will give you extra body and volume!

Anna Chlumsky’s Sleek and Sexy Middle Part

Miss Chlumsky is looking totally sexy with her sleek middle part! This is a fabulous way to show off your stunning accessories or a beautiful makeup application.

How To Style:
  1. Begin with dry hair that’s parted down the middle.
  2. Use a smoothing serum, and then, if your hair has a natural wave or curl, use your flat iron to smooth out your hair.
  3. After you have smoothed out each section of your hair, apply a shine serum to the ends, and tuck your hair behind your ears.
Best Face Shape and Hair Type:
If you have naturally straight hair, this look will be easier to achieve. A round face shape will be complemented by this style, and really any length of hair will work for this smoothed down look!
Recommended Products:
I love Shimmer Shine by Kevin Murphy as a finishing spray. Be sure to spray it in your hands before you apply to your hair. Too much can cause your roots to look greasy!
These looks are all new takes on classic styles. You can never go wrong with one of the timeless looks showcased here! Glammed up celebrities are a wonderful place to look for inspiration, as all three of these beauties have proven at the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards!
