Last we saw Detective Alec Hardy he was packing up his belongings and
instructed to leave his desk due to medical reasons. We found out he had a
serious heart condition in series one that saw him hospitalized a few times. It
will be tough to reunite these two as detective Ellie Miller found it was her
husband who in fact had killed 11-year old Danny after two months of
investigation. It was a struggle for her in the finale, trying to explain to
her son why his best friend was murdered and even the possibility of her moving
away.
In the trailer Tennant’s voiceover says
"There was a boy, and he was killed. I caught the killer. So why am I
still here?" That’s exactly what we’re hoping to find out.
